Accessibility to DLRs does not have to be complex and drawn out over time. DLR implementations are efficient, reproducible, and scalable with the WPL graphic user interface. Starting from GIS files of your line structures, you can import the lines into the software and configure conductor properties. The software allows you to import weather data from your SCADA or weather databases and couple with a pre-computed CFD-transfers lookup database. Fully integrated applications requiring CFD models can be produced with WindSim software and Power Line module.
For advanced DLR applications accuracy of the wind fields are critical. The accuracy of the wind fields dictates the level of confidence of the DLR system outputs and establishes the groundwork for DLR forecasts. WindSim consultants have dedicated expertise to wind modeling and will support the DLR implementation process at every step of the way —from the optimal siting of weather stations to the development and integration of CFD models into the DLR system.

Every organization is different in terms of their data integration requirements. WPL takes this into account by enabling data to flow through either a local or remote database, local or FTP file system, or other data repository and acquisition options, such as OSISoft PI Data Server. We welcome suggestions for more data exchange options and will work with you to comply with any of your unique data requirements to ensure data is processed reliably and securely.
WPL–Lite is a version of the full WPL system, which is faster to deploy because it does not include weather monitoring stations. WPL–Lite uses mesoscale weather data and forecasts for producing DLR calculations. Ambient Adjusted Ratings can also be produced. For applications requiring sanity checks on Static and Ambient Adjusted Ratings, WPL–Lite is ideal.
