Software Key

In WindSim 11, we have replaced the hardware license key with a software key. Now it will be much easier to run WindSim on a Virtual Machine. Running many simulations at the same time should be more stable as well.

Minimum PC Requirements

WindSim 11 runs on Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, Server 2003, Server 2008 (R2) , Server 2012 R2, SErver 2016 and Server 2019 (64-bit versions in all cases). We recommend using the newest 64 bit versions: Windows 10 or Windows Server 2019. 3D Visualizations do not require-but will render best-with graphics cards that support OpenGL.

The Ultimate Combination

To provide you with the best results possible we have recommended the most powerful combination/PC:

– Latest 64bit Windows

– More than 3 GHz Processor

– 3GB of RAM per core

– Fast SSD

– Lots of RAM (1.3 GB per million cells)

This combination is not a necessity in order to run WindSim, but a “bigger” model will give you extra power to run your simulations!

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5

WindSim 11 requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5. Please install it before you begin your WindSim installation if it is not already installed on your computer. Get the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 here.
