WindSim has been run with one wind direction from north-north-west, 330°. A neutral stable atmosphere is assumed, applying a logarithmic velocity profile from 0 to 500 meters height, above 500 meters the wind speed is set constant equal to 10 m/s.

The modelled area around Holmenkollen is less than 1 square km. Holmenkollen is situated on the north-west side of Oslo at approximately 300 meters height. In order to capture the large scale acceleration of the wind field a model with an extension of 10x10 km has also been set up. Combining the large and small model with a nesting technique. Nesting means that the results from a larger outer model are used as boundary conditions in a refined inner model. In this way the problem with inaccurate boundary conditions are reduced in the refined model.
