Beta programs will only work on PCs where a WindSim full edition is already installed. Administrative privileges are required during installation.
Old beta programs can no longer be downloaded when newer versions are available, or when they have become part of an official WindSim version. The upgrade history is kept as documentation of the development.

The new version of the Tools - Convert terrain model includes conversion of WAsP .map format to WindSim .gws format. The .map format contains both height and roughness data as contour lines, here is an example of a valid .map file; demo_map.zip (1.3 Mb). The tool is included in the WindSim 4.5 version.
After downloading and unzipping the below file dtm_conversion.zip, place dtm_conversion.exe in the WindSim program folder, which for a default 4.m.n installation will be; C:\WindSim AS\WindSim4.m\WindSim_4mn. Take a backup of the existing dtm_conversion.exe by copying it to e.g. dtm_conversion_old.exe.

The default pre WindSim 4.3 setting allows simulations of models with approximately 400 000 nodes. In the below version the array limit is increased. We have run successfully a model with 700 000 nodes on a 512 Mb RAM PC. The limit on the maximum number of nodes in each direction is 250x250x40 in the x, y and z direction respectively in pre 4.3 version. In version 4.4 this limits were increased to 400x400x40. Associated satexe and earexe with increased array limits is given in satexe_xxl.exe and earexe_xxl.exe, with these limits we have run successfully model in the order of 3 000 000 nodes.
After downloading and unzipping the below file(s), it must placed in the WindSim program folder, which for a default 4.m.n installation will be; C:\VECTOR\WindSim4.m\WindSim_4mn. The file must be moved to earexe.exe (or satexe.exe). Take a backup of the existing earexe.exe (or satexe.exe) by copying it to e.g. earexe_small.exe (or satexe_small.exe). From version 4.3.3 the earexe_large.exe is included in the installation.
