Arne Reidar Gravdahl holds a M.Sc. in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Oslo and a Ph.D in Turbulence modelling from The Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim. During his professional career, starting back in 1987 in the oil and gas industry, he has been working within the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics. He founded VECTOR AS in 1993, and since 1997 his primary working area has been within wind energy. In particular he has been responsible for the technical development of the WindSim software, leading to the establishment of the company WindSim AS in 2005. WindSim is software for simulation of local wind fields. WindSim is used within the wind energy sector for optimizing the energy production from wind farms.
Arne Reidar Gravdahl was project manager in the project "Norwegian Wind Atlas" financed by The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate and ENOVA in the period 1998 - 2003. He has headed many micro-siting projects with an emphasis on complex terrain sites.
Hilde Cathrine Vølstad holds a M.Sc. in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Oslo. She started working in VECTOR AS in 1994 and is today the marketing manager in WindSim AS.
Bob joined us in 2009 to launch our subsidiary focused on The Americas and also leads, develops, and executes WindSim's worldwide brand management and strategic marketing plans.
He has an extensive, successful career of synthesizing complex, advanced software technologies and services into value propositions that generate revenue. His experience includes working with start-up, pre-IPO, turnaround environments, and at large publicly traded firms. In addition to senior roles at PRQA | Programming Research, Mainsoft, ILOG, and Sun Microsystems' SunSoft, he held key positions with INTERACTIVE Systems, Eastman Kodak, and ATEX Publishing Systems.
Bob did undergraduate work at UMASS-Boston after serving in the US Navy, has an EMBA from Babson College, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School.
